Get unstuck

If a draft may be at risk, keep the editor tab open and download Save a copy before reloading, resetting or discarding anything. A Markdown download does not include image assets.

My document is missing

Check the selected repository, branch and Documentation folders. The default docs scope excludes a root README. Clear the folder list to include the whole repository, or add the missing directory. Use Find a document to search paths.

The current build accepts UTF-8 Markdown. It rejects a truncated GitHub tree rather than silently importing part of it, and lists up to 2,000 Markdown files across selected directories.

The workspace cannot connect

Both local servers must be running. Start the Laravel backend and use Retry connection. See Run the local preview.

For a rejected GitHub token, reconnect the same repository and branch with a valid token. Check repository selection, permission scope, expiration, organization approval and branch rules. Never include credentials in a support screenshot.

My draft did not save

Download your current Markdown, restore the backend connection and click Retry saving draft. Do not close the tab before you have a copy. If the draft changed in another tab, preserve your current work, reopen the saved draft and reconcile the versions manually.

The browser demo has no durable draft storage. Download before leaving; repository autosave applies only to the local GitHub workspace.

GitHub changed the file

DocuGhost retains your draft and refuses to apply it over a newer source version. Download your draft, discard that local draft only once you have a safe copy, then refresh and open the latest GitHub file. Reapply your intended change and review again. Automatic conflict merging is not available.

A submission needs attention

Use Retry submission to resume the saved operation. It checks its existing branch and PR before creating another. Editing is paused until the outcome is established.

Do not start a second submission for an uncertain first attempt: an interrupted request may already have reached GitHub. If the submission branch was rewritten externally, resolve that branch on GitHub before retrying; automated recovery for that case is not available.

Formatting is protected or blocked

Switch to Markdown source to edit frontmatter, HTML and custom syntax. Unknown content is intentionally protected in the visual editor. A blocked operation leaves the source intact. See preservation limits.

What is not available yet

• Hosted accounts, team invitations and per-member repository or folder permissions.

• A supported production Docker installation and commercial plans.

• GitHub App authorization, GitHub Enterprise hosts and automatic PR status synchronization.

• Built-in documentation publishing, live collaborative editing, file renaming or deletion.

• Git LFS, local commit hooks, or Git clean/smudge filters during API submissions.

For this preview, report reproducible problems in the project conversation where you received access. Include your browser, the action, the error message and a small sanitized Markdown example. A public support address has not been configured yet.
